Irrfan Khan was born as Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan on January 7, 1967, in Jaipur, Rajasthan to a Muslim Pashtun family. Irrfan Khan’s mother Begum Khan hailed from the Tonk Hakim family and his father Jagiradar Khan was from Khajuriya village near the Tonk district. Irfan Khan’s father ran a tire business and his mother was a housewife.
Irfan Khan was a skilled cricketer and was selected for CK Nayudu Tournament– a stepping stone to First-Class cricket for under 23 players. However, he did not turn up for the tournament owing to lack of funds.
Irrfan Khan was born and brought up in Jaipur, India. He was born into a Muslim Nawab family. He was studying for his M.A. degree when he earned a scholarship to study at the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi in 1984. A Padma Shri beneficiary, as well as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema, Sahabzade Irrfan Ali Khan, known more popularly as Irrfan Khan, has established himself even within international circles. He was born on 7 January 1967 in Rajasthan, where his father owned a tyre business.

In 1984, Irfan Khan earned a scholarship to study at the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi. After this, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. He started off by acting in television, and was regularly featured in a number of serials in a variety of roles. From a serial killer to a historical revolutionary figure, Irrfan Khan had played it all. At that time, he was also acting in stage plays and theatre, further honing his skills as an actor.
After graduating in 1987, Khan moved to Mumbai, where he acted in numerous television serials like ‘Chanakya’,’Sara Jahan Hamara’, ‘Banegi Apni Baat’ and ‘Chandrakanta’ (Doordarshan) and ‘Star Bestsellers’ (Star Plus), Sparsh, etc.
Irfan Khan was suffering from a rare disease Neuroendocrine Tumor. But he was recovering after his treatment in London. On 28th April 2020, he was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai for the treatment of Colon Infection. But, He could not survive.
