About UMANG APP
UMANG App :- The UMANG mobile app (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) is a Government of India single, unified, secure, multi-channel, multi-platform, multi-lingual, multi-service mobile app, providing access to high impact services of various organizations (Central and State). Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi had launched the UMANG App in 2017.
UMANG aap brings major government services on a single mobile app, with a larger goal to make the government accessible on mobile phones of citizens. As on date, UMANG aap provides about 1251 services from 257 Departments & 32 States and about 20,280 Utility Bill Payment services and many more services are there in the pipeline.
UMANG aap user base has crossed 3.41 Crore across Android, iOS, Web and KaiOS platforms. Citizens can also access their Digilocker Accounts from UMANG aap and give their feedback after availing any service through Rapid Assessment System (RAS) which has been integrated with UMANG Aap
EPF services under the UMANG app
Once the app is successfully installed, you can find the EPFO option on the homepage of your app. You will need to choose the ‘Employee Centric Services’ option and key in your EPF Universal Account Number (UAN) when you are prompted. You will now be able to log in via an OTP that will be sent to your registered mobile number with the EPF. Currently, as an EPF subscriber, you will have access to 16 different EPFO services via this mobile application. Currently, three services are available in the UMANG app under the EPFO section:

Additional services you can access via the UMANG App
You can apply for a PAN (permanent account number) via the UMANG app. The e-KYC can be completed by providing your Aadhaar details. On applying for a PAN card, you will also be able to check the status of your application via this app. In case you are seeking a job you can register yourself under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana via this app.
If you are holding an NPS (National Pension System) account, you will be able to check your account details, current holdings, and recent contributions via the UMANG app. You will also be able to apply for an address change in a few of the services using this app. You can also modify the schemes under NPS via this app.

As an EPF pensioner, you will now be able to check your passbook as well as update Jeevan Pramaan Patra on the UMANG app. As a pensioner, you will be able to generate your digital life certificate via this app. You will need an active UAN and a mobile number that is registered with EPFO for availing EPFO services on the UMANG app.
The UMANG app has been a big hit amidst the EPFO subscribers; in the last four months, around 1.127 million subscribers have settled their claims using this app. As per the data received from the retirement funds body, it shows that during the pandemic period between April and July 2020, 11.27 lakhs claims have been filed online via the UMANG app.

How to Withdraw EPF Using UMANG App?
To make withdrawals from EPF through the UMANG App, the following steps have to be followed:
- Login using credentials.
- Select the option ‘EPF’.
- Choose ‘Employee Centric’, press on ‘Raise Claim’ and enter EPF UAN number.
- Enter OTP sent to registered mobile number.
- Select type of Online EPF withdrawal claim and submit via the UMANG App. A reference number will be sent to the user that will help track the claim
How to register for Umang App?
Individuals can visit the website or download the Umaang app and follow the simple steps.
- Step 1: Download the app
- Step 2: Click on the New User.
- Step 3: Select the Mobile Number option and enter the Mobile number
- Step 4: Enter the OTP received on the mobile number.
- Step 5: Set MPIN screen appears.
- Step 6: Confirm MPIN, enter the same MPIN for confirmation
- Step 7: Click the Proceed icon
- Step 8: Enter Aadhaar details and verify
- Step 9: Enter the profile information and click Save and proceed
After completing the UMANG registration process, the UMANG Home screen appears.
